Abstract:
Background: Stroke is one of the major causes of human morbidity and mortality; it was the sixth leading cause of disability-adjusted years in 1990 and is projected to rank fourth by the year 2020.1It is also a leading cause of functional impairments, with 20% of survivors requiring institutional care after 3 months and 15% - 30% being permanently disabled. Aim &Objectives: To determine the beneficial effect of task specific training with trunk restrain versus constraint induced movement therapy in improving the function of hemiplegic upper limb in the sub-acute period after stroke.
