Abstract: Implementation of Kenya vision 2030 is ongoing having been launched on 10 June 2008. The regional security situation however remains a major concern and the ability of the internal security apparatus to decisively deal with such threats is limited. The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) being a key enabler must therefore play a key role in support of the implementation and realization of the vision. However, previous empirical studies have failed to effectively establish the role of KDF in achievement of Kenya Vision 2030.This therefore calls for policy makers to make policy intervention that would lead to strengthening of KDF role in implementation of Kenya’s Vision 2030 projects. The objective was to examine the role of KDF as an enabler to the achievement of Vision 2030.
