Abstract: Atherectomy is a surgical procedure used to remove and ablate plaque buildup and open narrow or blocked arteries with minimally invasive to restore normal blood flow in arteries. Rotational Atherectomy (RA) represents a viable therapeutic approach for addressing severe calcified lesions that arise during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for hemodynamically significant coronary stenosis. In the United States, approximately 6.5 million individuals over the age of 40 undergo PCI procedures. Notably, Rotational Atherectomy has been commercially accessible for nearly thirty years, having been introduced by Boston Scientific [1].
